Sheikh Zayed opened the Al Ain Zoo in 1968 as a sanctuary for endangered Arabian animals, located in the "Garden City" of the UAE. Today, it has developed into a modern conservation park covering 900 acres. It is home to over 4,000 animals and more than 200 species. The zoo features rare desert species, including lions and cheetahs, and integrates conservation, entertainment, and education into a single facility.
