The ideal season to experience Moreeb Dune is between October and April, when desert temperatures are cooler and the nights are crisp. During this period, especially for the Liwa Festival (late December through early January), the dune is at its most animated with events. Visiting in the early morning or late afternoon gives you golden light for photos and easier hikes.
Because it is remote desert terrain, bring water, good footwear (closed shoes), sunscreen, and warm layers for later in the evening. Even though Moreeb is reachable via paved road, some parts up to the dune base might be sandy; a 4WD makes parts of the journey easier. Also, the phone signal may be weak once you move far out.
